Feldspars include three compositional endmembers: Kfeldspar (KAlSi 3 O 8), albite (NaAlSi 3 O 8), anorthite (CaAl 2 Si 2 O 8). Abbreviations commonly used are Or (Kfeldspar), Ab (albite), An (anorthite). 'Or' is an abbreviation of a common Kfeldspar orthoclase, but sometimes it is used as a symbol of all the alkali feldspars.
